Cincinnati Bengals Star Tee Higgins Not Expected to Sign Franchise Tender Anytime Soon
CINCINNATI — Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins hasn't signed his franchise tender and isn't expected to by next week for the start of OTA's according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The 25-year-old cannot rejoin the team until he signs the tender because he's technically not under contract.
The Bengals placed the franchise tag on Higgins in March. He'll make $21.8 million this season if he plays on the tag. The Bengals and Higgins have until July 15 to agree to a long-term extension.
He's the only franchise or transition tagged player that hasn't signed a long-term deal with his respective team this offseason.
