Former NFL Stars Praise Joe Burrow Following Performance Against 49ers
CINCINNATI — The Bengals have won three-straight games after a 1-3 start and quarterback Joe Burrow is playing like his old self.
The 26-year-old struggled to start the season after suffering a calf injury in training camp, but now he's close to 100% healthy and it's showing on the field.
Burrow completed 28-of-32 passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's win over the 49ers. He also ran for 43 yards and moved well in the pocket.
Former NFL stars London Fletcher and Steve Beuerlein both praised Burrow and the Bengals following their win over San Francisco.
"He's rounding back into form into being that guy who I thought between him and Patrick Mahomes are the two best quarterbacks in the National Football League," Fletcher said. "The NFL has been put on notice with Joe Burrow and the way he's been playing lately."
The Bengals are 4-3 for a second consecutive season. They host the Bills on Sunday Night Football this week in a playoff rematch from the Divisional Round last season.
"He looks spectacular. He was moving like the old Joe Burrow," Beuerlein added. "He's going to set the NFL back on track by re-establishing the Bengals as one of the very best, if not the very best team in the AFC."
