Is Ja'Marr Chase Next? Patrick Surtain II Becomes Latest Member of 2021 NFL Draft Class to Get Extension
CINCINNATI — The Broncos are signing star cornerback Patrick Surtain II to a four-year, $96 million extension. Surtain II is another member of Ja'Marr Chase's draft class to get a long-term deal.
That includes four of the five players picked immediately after Chase: Jaylen Waddle, Penei Sewell, Surtain II and DeVonta Smith.
Like Chase, Surtain II is entering his fourth season. The Bengals and Chase are still discussion an extension, but have yet to agree to terms.
This is another example of a star player getting paid with two years left on their deal. Chase is hoping to be the next one.
