Joe Burrow Downplays Bengals' Matchup With Tom Brady and the Buccaneers: 'Just the Next Game'

Tampa Bay hosts Cincinnati at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals are looking for their sixth-straight win this week when they travel to Tampa Bay to play the Buccaneers.

Cincinnati is 9-4 on the season. Joe Burrow and Tom Brady will be matched up against each other for the first and what could be the only time.

The Bengals' star downplayed the significance of facing Brady during his appearance on the Colin Cowherd podcast.

"Just the next game. Just the next game," Burrow said with a laugh. "Something I was really focused on coming into the league was if you get too like 'oh, I grew up watching this guy' or 'I really liked him growing up,' I think you lose your competitive advantage when you're out on the field. So I really tried to limit that when I was able to come into the league and I think it's served me well."

At 9-4, the Bengals are hoping to win their second consecutive AFC North Championship and make a push for the top seed in the conference. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers are 6-7, but remain in first place in the NFC South.
