Joe Burrow Mentioned Among Top Quarterbacks in the NFL

The 24-year-old wasn't the only AFC North signal-caller on the list.

CINCINNATI — Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has taken the city by storm since being drafted last April. 

The 24-year-old has established himself as the face of the franchise. 

Burrow flashed his potential as a rookie, completing 65.3% of his passes for 2,688 yards, 13 touchdowns and five interceptions. He suffered a torn ACL in November, which ended his season after just 10 games.

A recent ESPN article ranked the top 10 quarterbacks and although Burrow wasn't ranked, he was one of eight signal-callers to receive votes. 

ESPN surveyed more than 50 NFL executive, scouts, coaches and players to help decide the top-10 players at each position. Voters ranked the best 10 to 15 quarterbacks in the league.

"How he stands in the pocket even though he knows he's going to get smacked—really impressive," a veteran tight end told ESPN. "It's hard enough to play as a rookie, [I] couldn't imagine running an offense and having full control like he does."

Pat Mahomes was ranked first, followed by Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Russell Wilson. 

Lamar Jackson (eighth) was the only AFC North quarterback to appear in the top 10. Chargers star Justin Herbert was ninth. 

Baker Mayfield, Ben Roethlisberger and Burrow all received votes.
