AFC North Could Get Tougher: John Johnson Says Odell Beckham Jr. Will Re-Join Browns

Will the star receiver come back to the division?

CINCINNATI — The AFC North is one of the toughest divisions in the NFL and it could get tougher in the coming weeks.

The Cleveland Browns have already traded for Deshaun Watson and Amari Cooper this offseason. Could Odell Beckham Jr. be next?

The star wide receiver could return to his former team according to Browns safety John Johnson

“OBJ coming back. You ain’t hear it from me tho,” Johnson said on Instagram Live.

Beckham might not have fit in with Baker Mayfield at quarterback, but Watson certainly changes things for the Browns.

Whether Beckham actually goes to Cleveland or not is one thing, but clearly there's a shift in how the Browns are viewed. With Watson at quarterback, guys like Jarvis Landry, Beckham and even a speedster like Will Fuller could be hoping to sign with the Browns.

That has a direct impact on Joe Burrow and the reigning AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals.

If they want to repeat as Conference Champions or even win the AFC North, then they're going to have to beat Cleveland. Suddenly the two Ohio teams are legitimate Super Bowl contenders. Both teams are officially destinations for veteran free agents hoping to win championships.

Beckham suffered a torn ACL in the Rams' Super Bowl win over the Bengals. He underwent successful surgery in February and is expected to return to action some point next season.
