Ohio State Quarterback Justin Fields Declares for 2021 NFL Draft

"My dream was to one day play the game that I love at the highest level"

CINCINNATI — Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields officially declared for the 2021 NFL Draft on Monday morning.

The 21-year-old is projected to be a top 10 selection and could go off the board with the second overall pick.

"Growing up, my dream was to one day play the game that I love at the highest level. Now thanks to God's grace and mercy, along with the help of you all [coaches and teammates], I am in position to turn that dream into a reality," Fields said in his announcement.

Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence declared for the draft earlier this month. He's expected to be the No. 1 pick.

Fields could go as high as No. 2 to the Jets. New York plans on sticking with quarterback Sam Darnold, which would open up the possibility of a team trading up for Fields.

BYU quarterback Zach Wilson is also in the mix to be the second quarterback taken in the draft.

The Bengals want as many quarterbacks as possible to get picked in the top four. They have Joe Burrow and aren't in the market for a signal-caller.

The more quarterbacks that get picked, the more likely it is that top prospects like Oregon tackle Penei Sewell or LSU wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase are still on the board at No. 5.
