CINCINNATI — The Bengals offered veteran cornerback Kristian Fulton a contract before he agreed to a one-year deal with the Chargers according to Turron Davenport of ESPN.

The former LSU star spent the past four years in Tennessee. He called 150 tackles, four interceptions and 25 passes defensed over that span.

Fulton is hoping to jump start his career with the Chargers. He was teammates with Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase at LSU. Fulton hasn’t played in more than 13 regular season games in a season.

The Broncos and Cardinals also pursued the 25-year-old according to Davenport.

While the Bengals didn’t land him, the report makes it clear that they aren’t done adding to the roster in free agency. They don’t have enough depth behind Cam Taylor-Britt, Mike Hilton and DJ Turner II. DJ Ivey is recovering from a torn ACL and Allan George is the only other healthy outside cornerback on the roster.

Look for Cincinnati to add another veteran defensive back before the 2024 NFL Draft, which is just over one month away.
