National Analyst Says Bengals Should Be Open to Trading Tee Higgins

Cincinnati placed the tag on Tee Higgins this week.

CINCINNATI — Tee Higgins was officially franchise tagged on Monday.

That means the 25-year-old is set to make $21.8 million this season. The Bengals and Higgins' camp have until July 15 to agree to a long term extension.

ESPN analyst Mina Kimes believes the Bengals should be open to moving Higgins in a potential trade.

"It made sense for them to tag Tee and now I think you gotta take some calls and see what's out there," Kimes said on NFL Live. "I would be very, very surprised if Cincinnati gives him an extension of the kind that he wants. I'm not saying that you have to do the trade. I think there is something to be said for going all in this season while you have Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins on the roster. You can have an incredible offense again with Joe Burrow, but you have to be open to the possibility of moving on knowing that it's likely to only be one year with Higgins versus potentially multiple years with younger players you can acquire in the draft."
