In this story:

CINCINNATI — The Bengals might've given Trey Hendrickson permission to seek a trade, but it sounds like there making some kind of progress with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Both star receivers are looking for new contracts. Ian Rapoport shared a morsel of optimism on Thursday night.

"They've made some level of progress trying to get them new deals," Rapoport said.

How much progress?

Well the deals aren't done.

it would be beneficial to sign Higgins before free agency opens on Wednesday, March 12. Right now he has a $26.179 cap hit. Lowering that would give them more flexibility, which is needed with all the holes they have on defense and the uncertainty surrounding Trey Hendrickson's future.

We'll see if the Bengals can get moving on contracts for their star receivers. Meanwhile, their best defensive player is hoping to get a big time contract from another team.
