Breaking: NFL Owners Approve 17-Game Season for 2021

The Bengals and the rest of the NFL will play a 17th game this season

CINCINNATI — The Bengals will play an extra game in 2021. The NFL owners officially approved a 17-game regular season on Tuesday. 

All 32 teams will still host 10 games total. Some teams will have one home preseason game and nine home games during the regular season, while others will have with eight home contests and two preseason games. 

The Bengals' 17th game will be against the 49ers. Both teams finished last in their division last season. The new game will be against an NFC opponent with a rotating four-year schedule.

The good news is the Bengals will host the 49ers, so they'll be one of the teams that gets an extra regular season home game in 2021. They'll play two of their three preseason games on the road.
