Philadelphia Eagles Release Veteran Tight End C.J. Uzomah
CINCINNATI — Former Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah was released by the Eagles on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old tight end spent the past two years in New York with the Jets. He signed a one-year deal with the Eagles in March. By releasing him now, Philadelphia gives him a chance to catch on elsewhere before teams make their final cuts next week.
Uzomah was drafted by the Bengals in 2015 and spent seven seasons in Cincinnati. He signed a three-year, $24 million contract with the Jets in 2022. Uzomah finished the 2023 season on injured reserve with an MCL injury.
