Philadelphia Eagles Sign Former Cincinnati Bengals Tight End C.J. Uzomah
CINCINNATI — Former Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah signed with the Eagles practice squad on Thursday.
The 31-year-old tight end spent the past two years in New York with the Jets. He signed a one-year deal with the Eagles in March. Philadelphia released him in August.
Uzomah was drafted by the Bengals in 2015 and spent seven seasons in Cincinnati. He signed a three-year, $24 million contract with the Jets in 2022. Uzomah finished the 2023 season on injured reserve with an MCL injury.
The Bengals play the Eagles in Week 8. If Uzomah is elevated from the practice squad, he could face his former team for the second time. The Bengals beat Uzomah and the Jets in Week 3 of the 2022 campaign.
