Report: Jaylen Waddle Lands Contract Extension With Miami
CINCINNATI — Jaylen Waddle is the latest wide receiver to jump past Tee Higgins with a new contract. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Dolphins handed him a three-year, $84.75 million contract extension that includes $76 million guaranteed.
The guarantees slot in only behind A.J. Brown ($84 million) and Amon-Ra St. Brown ($77 million). St. Brown just signed his deal this offseason as a three-year extension play looks like it could be the move with Ja'Marr Chase.
It makes no sense financially for Chase to negotiate a new deal this offseason when he can continue to wait for the market to continue growing. On the flip side, Cincinnati should do all they can to get Chase to sign an extension in 2024.
Higgins will likely get a deal similar to this Waddle contract or better if he posts his typical production this coming season.
