Tee Higgins Discusses Future After Asking Cincinnati Bengals for Trade
CINCINNATI — Tee Higgins asked the Cincinnati Bengals for a trade last month after they placed the franchise tag on him.
Despite the request, Higgins knows he'll likely have to spend this season in Cincinnati.
"We'll see. I do anticipate it," Higgins said when asked if he expects to be a Bengal this year. "I've grown a love for Cincy that I didn't think I would. Looking forward to it."
Higgins is set to make $21.7 million this season on the franchise tag. He's scheduled to become a free agent next offseason.
The Bengals took Higgins in the second round (33rd overall) in the 2020 NFL Draft. He's helped Cincinnati win two AFC North titles and an AFC Championship. He helped them make back-to-back AFC Championship Games in 2021 and 2022.
