Buffalo Bills Trade Up for WR Rome Odunze? 'Wouldn't Be Surprised' Says Draft Analyst

The Buffalo Bills could make a big splash to solve their need for a wide receiver.

The Buffalo Bills are in desperate need of help at receiver, but with the amount of talent available in this draft class, it may be the best time to have such a need.

Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze are all elite receiver prospect, and there's a solid chance all three of them go in the top 10 selections. Even beyond that elite trio, there's still great prospects such as Brian Thomas Jr., Xavier Worthy and more. It wouldn't be a surprise to see six or more receivers go in the first round alone, as the class is just that deep.

That's tremendous news for the Bills, who hold the No. 28 pick, but if they want one of the big three, they're going to have to trade up. For Ben Solak of The Ringer, that is a realistic scenario if Odunze remains available a bit longer than expected.

"Would not be surprised to see the Bills make the huge trade-up for the wide receiver," Solak said on "Up & Adams." "You cannot walk into next season throwing the ball to Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins. Can't do it. I like Khalil Shakir, but we need a wide receiver one in Buffalo if you're going to be the scary team that we've been over the last several years."

Moving up from No. 28 to the top 10 will cost the Bills a fortune, especially when other teams in that range have similar needs. That said, it may be a price worth paying to get a potential stud in Odunze.

Over the past two years, Odunze has been one of the most-electrifying receivers in the country as he's caught 167 passes for 2,785 yards and 20 touchdowns in that time. He's able to go up and win battles against defenders with his 6-3, 215-pound frame, and his 4.45-second 40-yard dash is quite good for a player of his size.

With Josh Allen throwing him the ball, Odunze could be an immediate impact player in Buffalo.

"I will own a Rome Odunze Offensive Rookie of the Year ticket within five minutes of the trade," Solak said. "Rome is so good. The thing about Rome is that he's steady, he's reliable."
