The Buffalo Bills have had to say no shortage of goodbyes this offseason on both sides of the ball, but the defense has been hit particularly hard.

That continued on Thursday, as NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Bills free-agent defensive tackle Jordan Phillips will be signing with the New York Giants. The terms and length of the deal have not yet been revealed.

Here's Rapoport's official report on the news, which revealed that the deal was "in the works for some time."

"The Giants are signing veteran free agent DT Jordan Phillips today, source said," Rapoport tweeted. "The former Bills DT has some familiar faces in the NYG building. A deal in the works for some time, NYG adds a key piece to their D-line prior to the draft."

Phillips, 31, was originally a second-round pick the Miami Dolphins in 2015 before joining the Bills in 2018. He then arrived to Arizona in 2020 and played with the Cardinals for two seasons before coming back to Buffalo in 2022.

In nine NFL seasons, Phillips has played in 120 regular-season games (62 starts) while tallying 181 total tackles, 24 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 24 passes defended and one interception.
