Stefon Diggs Takes Parting Shot at Buffalo Bills Fans After Trade
Stefon Diggs apparently found Bills Mafia to be anything but Goodfellas.
Diggs' divorce from the Buffalo Bills apparently featured a new layer of animosity: several outlets discovered that one of the newly-minted Houston Texan's recently liked posts on X declared Western New York supporters to be the "wors(t) fanbase" in the NFL. To show just how far the tide had turned in the waves of animosity, Diggs' fateful like came in a response to his post mourning the death of Vontae Davis.
That group, often referred to as "Bills Mafia," has become renowned in NFL circles for their pregame and in-game jubilation, adored Diggs' on-field antics for each of the past four seasons, which saw him become one of the faces of the team's new-century resurgence. Buffalo reached the playoffs in each of his four tours repping Orchard Park but that run of prosperity was burdened with close losses and an inability to get past the AFC title game hump.
Upon his departure through a trade to the Texans, Diggs ranks fourth in franchise history in receptions (445), yardage (5,372), and touchdowns (37). Things, however, soured between Diggs and the franchise in recent times, namely through a declining relationship with franchise quarterback Josh Allen, leading to his eventual departure.
Diggs' move has created one of the more exciting situations in the NFL, as the Texans are now armed with the services of Nico Collins, Tank Dell, Joe Mixon, and Dalton Schultz to work with CJ Stroud, one of Allen and Patrick Mahomes' fiercest competitors for the role of top quarterback in the AFC. Bills fans looking to express their discontent with Diggs won't have to wait long, as Buffalo is set to visit Houston at some point this fall.
