Bills vs. Blizzard: Can Team Fly Out of Buffalo for Browns Game at Detroit?

Snowmobiles, activate?! The Josh Allen-led Bills are 6-3 and trying to get out of Buffalo to play the Browns in Detroit.

It's a winter wonderland in Buffalo, with the city - and Highmark Stadium - blanketed by six feet of snow.

And another wonder: Will the massive snowstorm in the area, which already caused the NFL to move Sunday’s home game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cleveland Browns - to Detroit even allow the game to be played at all?

The Saturday morning challenge: Will the Bills be able to fly out of Western New York to make it to the Motor City?

The Bills are presently scheduled to leave from Buffalo Niagara International Airport at 3:30 p.m. ET today. ... and that's a problem. Over the course of this morning, the runways at the airport have been closed (as of about 5:30 a.m.) but then re-opened a few hours later ... but with snow still falling.

Another two feet of snow falling on the tarmac on Saturday morning? That's two feet worth of issues.

In almost any event, flights out of Buffalo are going to be subject to significant delays and cancellations throughout the day ... but of course that is not a particular issue to the football team.

If there is a safe way to take off from the tarmac, the Bills team plane will do so.

But ...

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that there is a challenge in advance of flying out, noting that “the Bills are working on getting players out of their homes and to the airport.''

Snowmobiles, activate?!

The Josh Allen-led Bills are 6-3 and trying to rebound from a pair of back-to-back losses by taking on the 3-6 Browns in Detroit, with the game scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff for Sunday.
