Bills WATCH: A.J. Epenesa Snags Crazy Pick-Six vs. Commanders
The Buffalo Bills' defense had one of its best games in recent memory in Sunday's ()-() win over the Washington Commanders at FedEx Field.
But among all the big plays that coach Sean McDermott's unit made, it was one that happened when the game was already decided that took the cake for one of the best highlights of the day in the NFL.
Already with three interceptions, the Bills were up 23-0 in the fourth quarter, but added more picks and points to help secure the win thanks to defensive end A.J. Epenesa. The pass-rusher showed off his ball skills, after coming face-to-face with Commanders quarterback Sam Howell in the open field. But instead of trying to make the tackle, Epenesa extended vertically to time Howell's throw perfectly.
The interception was impressive enough, but Epenesa then took it 32 yards back to the house for his first-career touchdown on his first-career pick.
Take a look:
"It's really cool to see AJ evolve in the last couple years since he's first got here to now,” Bills safety Jordan Poyer said. “Just the type of player he is, the type of person he is on and off the field, his preparation going into the game, the questions that he asked each and every week just to be detailed on his work. He does make those plays in practice, it seems like at least once a week. But he's just a very instinctive football player, very smart football player. He's gonna continue to make plays for this defense."
