Bills Set to Re-Sign LB A.J. Klein for Another Reunion - Report

Potentially set to leave the team for a third time in his career via free agency this offseason, the Buffalo Bills are reportedly set to re-sign linebacker A.J. Klein for 2023.

The Buffalo Bills were set to part ways with veteran linebacker A.J. Klein this offseason in what would've been his third goodbye with the team.

But Buffalo is reportedly not ready to let Klein go just yet. The Bills are expected to re-sign the unrestricted free agent "as early as tomorrow," per reports from WGR550 in Buffalo.

Klein was waived by the Bills in March 2022 in a cap-clearing move. He then began last season on the New York Giants practice squad before signing to the 53-man roster of the Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 6.

But the Ravens traded him to the Chicago Bears 25 days after signing him. And a little over two weeks later, the Bears waived him.

Looking to find somewhere to settle, he returned to a familiar place in Buffalo one day after being cut by Chicago. After playing for the Bills during the 2020 and 2021 seasons, the team signed him on for the rest of last season, as he recorded 11 total tackles in six games.

Klein will look to provide important depth and veteran experience on a defense that already has tons of it. Once the reported deal is signed, Klein will get ready for his 11th season in the league after being a fifth-round pick out of Iowa State in 2013.
