Bills Avoiding 'All-In' Roster Building Approach Says GM Brandon Beane
The ultimate goal for all 32 NFL teams every single season is win the Super Bowl and hoist the prestigious Lombardi Trophy. Doing so, though, is obviously much easier said than done.
Fans of the Buffalo Bills know this all too well, as they saw their team make four straight Super Bowl appearances from 1991-1994 but proceeded to lose all four.
With winning it all such a difficult task it, wouldn't be unreasonable to anticipate the Bills go for an "all-in" approach like the Los Angeles Rams did to claim their title in 2021. However, while that worked for the Rams, general manager Brandon Beane shot down any notion of Buffalo doing the same.
“There are some moves that we could do that would say we’re all in for this year and then have a tear down,” Beane said on The Jim Rome Show. “We’ve been diligent with the cap to try to avoid that type of situation.
"It’s not easy, especially when you have a top 10 quarterback, great receiver, Tre White, Von [Miller] and some of these guys. Ultimately, we think we’ve got a plan to continue to go for it year after year and hopefully we can find a way to pull that title home for Buffalo sooner rather than later.”
Even without going all-in for a shot at their first Super Bowl, the Bills remain perennial contenders, thanks in strong part to one of the NFL's best rosters. An MVP-caliber quarterback in Josh Allen paired with receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis as well as an elite defense will have the Bills in the Super Bowl conversation for the foreseeable future.
It isn't hard to see why the Bills would go all-in to bring home a Super Bowl, as those banners fly forever. For now, though, they are content with the roster they already have to compete once again this upcoming season.
