Bills Set to Sign Ex Dolphins OT Brandon Shell

The Buffalo Bills are reportedly signing former Miami Dolphins and New York Jets offensive lineman Brandon Shell.

The Buffalo Bills are keeping an AFC East mainstay in the division once again.

Former Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Brandon Shell is reportedly planning to sign with the Bills, he told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Monday. Contract details are yet to be revealed.

This past season marked Shell's only year in Miami, where he made 11 starts and appeared in 13 games.

The Bills add Shell to an offensive line that has already signed guards Connor McGovern and David Edwards along with Kevin Jarvis this offseason. Buffalo also drafted Florida guard O'Cyrus Torrence in the second round and guard Nick Broeker in the seventh round last month.

Shell now joins the third AFC East team of his career after being a fifth-round pick by the New York Jets in 2016. He carved out four solid years for himself in New York, as Shell appeared in 49 games while making 40 starts on the o-line.

However, injuries started to take a toll on Shell. He ended up not re-signing with the Jets in the 2018 offseason before joining the Seattle Seahawks, where he overcame some of those injury issues to start all 21 games he played in a Seattle uniform.

Shell will now look to carve out a depth role on the 53-man roster, though his starter's experience could eventually land him with more playing time if he impresses the coaching staff this offseason.
