Bills Damar Hamlin Responds to Bronny James Cardiac Arrest: 'Here for You!'

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin reached out with words of encouragement and prayer to Bronny James on Tuesday.

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is preparing for the start of training camp, but significant news in the sports world on Tuesday brought his attention elsewhere for a brief time.

USC Trojans basketball commit Bronny James, the son of NBA legend LeBron James, suffered cardiac arrest during a team workout on Monday and had to be taken to the hospital and ICU.

While James is thankfully out of ICU already and in stable condition, Hamlin reached out with words of encouragement and prayer.

"Prayers to Bronny & The James family as well. here for you guys just like you have been for me my entire process," Hamlin tweeted.

Hamlin, of course, suffered from on-field cardiac arrest against the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 2. He has since recovered and been fully cleared for a return to football. But more importantly, he's been a leading advocate for awareness surrounding CPR education, defibrillator access and more.

James' representatives released an official statement regarding the scary incident.

"Yesterday while practicing, Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest," the statement said. "Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital."

"We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information," the statement continued. "LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes."
