Cowboys Tampering with Bills' Stefon Diggs? Here's What Rulebook Says

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs wants the Buffalo Bills to trade his brother, Stefon, to Jerry World ASAP. But what does the NFL Anti-Tampering Policy have to say about that?

The trade pleas from Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs toward his brother and Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs don't seem to be coming to a stop.

First it was this ...

“We need Cowboys Nation to go and help and tweet to get bro here,” Trevon told "Blogging the Boys'' last week.“We need everyone to know. We need to put it on notice that we need to get bro to Dallas.”

And now?

Trevon obviously hasn't shied away from making it known that he wants his Cowboys to pull the trigger and acquire his brother via trade. This continued on Thursday, as he took it a step further by posting a jersey swap of Stefon in Cowboys gear.

But it begs the question ... could Trevon be violating the NFL's tampering rules?

If so, it's certainly not to the level of seriousness or severity that tends to happen between clubs in all major leagues.

Still, according to Rule B of Section 3 of the NFL's Anti-Tampering Policy, "no club, nor any person employed by or otherwise affiliated with a club, is permitted to tamper with a player who is under contract to or whose exclusive negotiating rights are held by another club."

So, by definition, it appears as if Trevon is technically tampering with his older brother by publicly asking for Stefon to be traded while he's under contract in Buffalo. It hasn't even been a year since Stefon signed a four-year, $96 million extension with the Bills. He's under contract for quite a while and his rights belong to Buffalo. Trevon is clearly making sure that's no longer the case.

Of course, though Trevon is technically tampering, these are certainly unique circumstances.

It's not often you see two star-studded siblings on two of the biggest brands in the sport admit publicly the desire to team up with each other.

“I always wanted to be with my brother. He knows that. He’s playing on the heartstrings a little bit,” Stefon said. “Cowboys Nation loves him so much. It’s weird because I grew up a Cowboys fan and I follow the Cowboys because of my brother and all that.''

After all, what's wrong with a little brotherly back-and-forth? Can anyone really blame for Trevon admitting he wants to play with his big bro? Why wouldn't he?

It seems unlikely at this point that any kind of punishment will be headed Trevon's way for a jersey swap on social media.

But rules are rules.
