Buffalo Bills TE Dawson Knox to Undergo Surgery

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox has been dealing with a wrist injury.

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox will undergo wrist surgery, per coach Sean McDermott. The exact timeline of when he’ll return is currently unclear as the Bills prepare for Thursday night’s home matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“It’s too early to say how much time he’ll miss,” McDermott said Monday.

Knox has been dealing with the wrist injury in recent weeks but still managed to log three full practices leading up to Sunday’s 29-25 loss to the New England Patriots. However, it appears that the nagging nature of the injury is catching up to Knox, who had just one catch for 10 yards against New England. This season, he’s tallied 15 catches for 102 yards and a touchdown.

Luckily for the Bills, first-round rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid is coming off his best game as a pro in the loss to the Patriots. He posted eight catches (on eight targets) for 75 yards.

Even on a day where Stefon Diggs commanded 12 targets, Kincaid led the Bills in catches and receiving yards.

Knox praised Kincaid’s performance following the game on Sunday.

“Definitely a bright part of the game,” Knox said. “He’s a weapon to be used. So hopefully, that will keep his confidence up. The more weapons we have on offense, the more we can spread the ball around, the more versatile we can be. The harder it is to defend every part. Definitely happy for him. Hopefully that will continue building.”

The Bills and Bucs kickoff from Highmark Stadium on Thursday at 8:15 p.m. ET.
