Bills Grades: No Blockbuster Trade, But High Marks for 2023 NFL Draft
Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills didn't trade for DeAndre Hopkins during the 2023 NFL Draft, but they still seem to have improved a roster that was already a Super Bowl contender.
Between tight end Dalton Kincaid and wide receiver Justin Shorter, the Bills added more weapons to the arsenal for Josh Allen. Offensive guard and linebacker aren't sexy positions, but there's reason to believe that O'Cyrus Torrence and Dorian Williams could be impactful for a team with high aspirations in 2023.
Here's a roundup of NFL Draft grades for the Bills from national outlets.
Reuter is particularly high on the selection of Torrence in the second round, saying that he was "a steal because of the power and nimble feet he'll provide in the running game." After transferring from Louisiana-Lafayette, Torrence was a Consensus All-American in his lone season at Florida.
PFF had Kincaid rated as the 10th best prospect in the 2023 class, so you can imagine how giddy they are that the Bills were able to land him at pick No. 25. Kincaid had 70 catches for 890 yards and eight touchdowns in his final collegiate season at Utah.
Henry McKenna of FOX Sports: B
An anonymous passing-game coordinator said to McKenna that the Bills can use Kincaid like the Kansas City Chiefs do with four-time All-Pro Travis Kelce. If he's 75% of what Kelce has been in the NFL, Kincaid will be one of the best picks in franchise history for the Bills.
While Davis notes that it's unfair that some have compared Kincaid to Kelce, he believes his addition to a group of pass catchers that already included Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis and Dawson Knox should help Allen and the offense take another step forward.
