Bills 'Best Fit' for Texas RB Bijan Robinson?

The Buffalo Bills have a need for an elite running back which Bijan Robinson could be their guy with the No. 27 overall pick.

Bijan Robinson is undoubtedly one of the most talented players in this year's NFL Draft class. Yet, if it weren't for the continually declining value of the running back position, it'd be much easier to gauge where he'll be selected.

Ten years ago, Robinson is likely a top-10 pick. Now, who knows where he'll hear his name called? But for a team like the Buffalo Bills, who own a late first-round pick, Robinson is on the table if he's still available by the No. 27 pick.

Robinson was the pick of the Bills in a recent CBS Sports mock draft and now has had Buffalo labeled as his "best fit," in another article from the same outlet.

Yes, the Bills did use their second-round pick on James Cook a year ago, who, despite averaging over five yards a carry as a rookie, the running game still looks to be one of the weaknesses on offense. However, add that the Bills also just lost their veteran back, Devin Singletary, to the Houston Texans in free agency, and it makes sense as to why they'd want Robinson, as CBS pointed out.

"His presence would likely force defenses to pay less attention to Buffalo's receivers, which could lead to an MVP-caliber 2023 season for Allen," CBS wrote.

The former Longhorn rushed for 1,000 yards in each of his final two seasons in Austin and won the 2022 Doak Walker Award as the best running back in the nation. His addition to Buffalo would give the Bills a potential 1,000-yard running back, something they have lacked since LeSean McCoy in 2017.

Robinson isn't just a prototypical bell-cow back either, as he would also be a weapon out of the backfield as a receiver. He finished his career with 805 yards and eight touchdowns on 60 receptions.
