Buffalo Bills 'Finding Their Identity' During Playoff Push
With no margin for error if they were going to make a fifth straight playoff appearance, the Buffalo Bills have gotten hot when it matters most.
The Bills won their third straight game with a come-from-behind 24-22 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday at SoFi Stadium. With Buffalo hitting its stride at the right time, receiver Gabe Davis credits it to the team finding out who they are as they hit the home stretch of the season.
"We're starting to figure out our identity and [are] playing some good football," Davis said postgame. "This was a great game against a great team. We know they were going to come out and fight hard, and that's what they did."
Davis put together his best performance of the season with four catches for 130 yards, including a 57-yard catch for a touchdown. Davis hadn't had a catch in the Bills' last two games before facing Los Angeles.
While Davis has admitted how tough the lack of targets can be, he acknowledged that his focus has been on doing his job.
"Just kept doing my job the best way I know how," Davis said. "Things aren't going to go your way all the time. That's life. You've just got to be able to attack when adversity strikes."
Davis' play aided quarterback Josh Allen in making history on Saturday, as he became the first player to have at least 40 touchdowns in four straight seasons. Allen completed 15 of 21 passes, threw one touchdown and one interception and ran for two against the Chargers.
Bills QB Josh Allen Sets NFL Record vs. Chargers
While the Bills have won in different ways during their three-game winning streak, the one constant has been the need to win to stay alive in the AFC playoff picture. Now, they're the No. 6 seed in the AFC and Next Gen Stats gives Buffalo a 75-percent chance of making the playoffs.
"This is the playoffs for us," Allen said. "Every game is going to come down to the wire like this. We're going to get everybody's best shot and we've got to keep on trucking, keep on working hard and continue to find a way."
