Bills WATCH: Josh Allen Finds Gabe Davis on Laser Throw for TD vs. Commanders
The Buffalo Bills had already gotten out to a solid start on defense in Sunday's Week 3 meeting with the Washington Commanders at FedEx Field.
So when Bills receiver Gabe Davis made his presence know at the end of the first quarter, this solid start changed to an excellent one. With Buffalo already leading 3-0, Davis got free behind the Washington secondary and Allen found him on a dart to the pylon for a 35-yard touchdown to build a 10-0 lead.
The score marked Buffalo's first and only play of the drive after a holding penalty from the Commanders on the punt gave the Bills' some nice starting field position.
Take a look at the touchdown:
Davis made it a point during the week that doing his job downfield will makes things easier for Allen, who has to avoid a talented Washington defensive line,
“Like I was preaching earlier about making it easy for 17,” Davis said. “So we gotta know that we’re not only going against the guy in front of us, but we’re going against the guys on the line of scrimmage.”
“That’s one of the things that our coach harps on. Each week, we’re going against the D-Line as well. We have to be aware of that and know that we don’t have all this time at the line of scrimmage, we have to get open.”
Davis now has a touchdown in back-to-back games after snagging his first score of the season in Week 2's win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
