Bills Ex Jamison Crowder Signs with Commanders: Details

Jamison Crowder played four games with the Buffalo Bills last season. Now, he's signing on to the Washington Commanders practice squad.

A former member of the Buffalo Bills has found a new home.

According to sources, the Washington Commanders have signed veteran wideout Jamison Crowder to the practice squad.

Crowder, 30, was drafted by Washington in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft and played his first four seasons in the league with the team.

Crowder's best season with the Commanders came in 2016, when he caught 67 passes for 847 yards and seven touchdowns.

Since then, he's bounced around the league playing for the New York Jets (2019-21) and Bills (2022).

In March, he signed with the NFC East rival New York Giants, but was part of the team's final roster cuts to shrink to its 53-man roster.

Crowder played in just four games last season with the Bills after breaking his ankle. He managed to catch just six passes for 60 yards.

Now, Crowder appears to be looking for a final lifeline to keep his NFL career going. He may not be the kind of player he once was during his first Washington stint, but there still could be some gas left in the tank.

Now with the Commanders, he'll provide a veteran presence for a young Sam Howell as he navigates his first season as Washington's starting quarterback.

While Crowder may not have lived up to standards while with the Bills, Buffalo has made some upgrades at the position this offseason. The team signed veteran Trent Sherfield, who played for the Miami Dolphins last season. The Bills also added Deonte Harty, a former All-Pro return specialist.
