Bills' Jordan Poyer: Cowboys Free Agent Target? Veteran DB Eyeing Sunny, Tax-Free State

Current Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer hasn't hesitated to express his desires of where he'd potentially like to sign in free agency this offseason. And on the surface, the Dallas Cowboys seem like a team that could meet the needs he's verbalized.

Could Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer potentially be eyeing the Dallas Cowboys in free agency?

His wife certainly expressed interest in living in Dallas back in November, telling an assumed fan that she has made her desire to live in Texas known. But maybe even Poyer is warming up to that idea, as he expressed his want to live in a state that, among other things, doesn't have a high-income tax.

"I would love to go to a state that doesn't take half my money," Poyer said on his podcast. "It's crazy to me how taxes work. Some people will say, 'You're already making X amount of money.' Taxes play a big part in all of our lives. ..."

The 31-year-old took it further, drawing up another potential connection to the Cowboys.

"If it wasn't Buffalo, it'd be nice to be warm," Poyer said. "It would be nice to see the sun, maybe, every week or so, every other week at least."

With no state income tax, a warm-weather state, and a place to see the sun, Dallas seems like a fit for Poyer and his family.

From an on-field perspective, Poyer could be a replacement for Donovan Wilson. Wilson, the former sixth-round pick out of Texas A&M, is set to hit unrestricted free agency during this offseason.

If the Cowboys are priced out of a deal with Wilson, Poyer is among the top available safeties.
