Bills' Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs Are 'Reading Same Word' as Jets Loom

As kickoff to a fateful Buffalo Bills season approaches, Josh Allen offered one more clarification of his unbroken relationship with Stefon Diggs.

The Buffalo Bills' offseason ends as it began, as a prominent face in the organization is talking about Stefon Diggs.

Quarterback Josh Allen recently appeared on "The Rich Eisen Show" and was granted yet another opportunity to clear the metaphorical ear of any rumors of a rift between Diggs and Western New York. Allen did that and then some, telling the eponymous host that their connection has reached new levels.

"We're reading the same word right now," Allen told an amused Eisen. "Same letter, we're pronouncing it at the same exact time." 

Allen and Diggs' shared reading material should only invigorate Western New York further: when Eisen presses for the password, Allen says that it's "win."

At this point, Diggs-related queries are commonplace for prominent Bills. The firestorm likely started at the end of last year's futile AFC Divisional playoff trip, one that saw a frustrated Diggs confront Allen on the sidelines as Buffalo's fate was sealed against the Cincinnati Bengals. Things only intensified when head coach Sean McDermott hinted that he was "very concerned" about Diggs' Buffalo future during into minicamp, leading Buffalo management and players alike into an offseason of constantly insisting that Diggs was fine with a charging bison on his helmet.

Reconciliation between quarterback and receiver took a page out of "Entourage"'s book of redemption.

"We hugged it out," Allen told Eisen. "Whatever it was, whatever the media made it, it's way back there."

Eisen brought up McDermott's literal concerns voiced in June, but Allen only insisted that the month was the relative term.

The Allen-to-Diggs connection has been one of the most lucrative in football ever since the latter arrived from Minnesota in 2020. By far the most prominent target Allen has had in his NFL career, Diggs has earned 4,189 yards and 29 scores during his regular season endeavors as a Bill to date. 

Such a pairing will likely play a major part in the Bills' fortunes this season. Their latest collaboration will be on Monday night when Buffalo heads to the Garden State to battle the New York Jets in prime time (8:15 p.m. ET, ABC/ESPN).
