Florida State WR Keon Coleman Explains Why Bills, Josh Allen 'Need' Him

Florida State receiver Keon Coleman has offered his big-play services to Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.

What do you get the team that supposedly has everything? Florida State receiver Keon Coleman believes it's just a little more.

The former Seminole personally offered his big play talents to Western New York during his availability at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, reasoning that the Buffalo Bills and franchise quarterback Josh Allen "need" his abilities to take that final step to a Super Bowl.

“(He) probably (has) the strongest arm in the league," Coleman said. "He needs a guy to test that arm so he can throw it as far as he can and I can go out there and get it.”

Coleman, fresh off first-team All-ACC honors after transferring from Michigan State, insisted that his arrival could turn Allen into a better quarterback. That, of course, was nothing personal toward Allen, who was the subject of increasingly lauding praise from a starstruck Coleman.

While Allen put up yet another strong season that drew MVP consideration, the 29 touchdown passes he threw were his fewest since his second season as a starter in 2019. With some Western New Yorkers already resigning to the idea of losing Gabe Davis, it'll be important for Bills management to satisfy and replenish the big-play department, even if Stefon Diggs chooses to stay.

Coleman, scorer of 18 touchdowns between East Lansing and Tallahassee, believes he's one of the best candidates to fill that spot, claiming he'd be a "sponge" if he had the honor of complementing Diggs during a "great" interview with Buffalo reps in Indianapolis.

NFL Mock Draft: Bills Pick Controversial WR

"(The Bills) were asking me, ‘How would you handle not coming in and just handling the wheel? You’re going to have guys like Stefon Diggs there.’ I was like that would be great for me," Coleman said. "I get to learn from a guy of that stature that’s been in the league for a while, doing it consistently."

"So I’m just coming in as a sponge and I’m not mad if I don’t have to take the wheel right away. That’s a learning experience for me to get to learn from him and when I do get the wheel it’s going to be something crazy.”

The Bills currently hold the 28th pick in the draft, which will begin on April 25 in Detroit.
