Poor Execution, Penalties Cost Buffalo Bills in Loss vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Buffalo Bills lost 25-20 to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday.

The Buffalo Bills are heading back across the pond without a win after suffering a 25-20 defeat at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at Tottenham Stadium.

The Bills had chances to win their fourth consecutive game, but Buffalo was unable to get much rhythm into the game. Buffalo managed to score just seven points through three quarters after scoring 48 last week in a win against the undefeated Miami Dolphins.

"Can't attribute it to anything other than execution on the offensive side of the ball. Pretty much execution," receiver Stefon Diggs said.

Diggs was a bright spot for the Bills, leading the team with eight catches for 121 yards and a touchdown, but the team's penalties helped negate his strong performance. Buffalo racked up 11 penalties for 109 yards, which is certainly enough to shift the outcome of a five-point contest.

"Too many times shooting ourselves in the foot when we're about to get off the field or starting to get into a rhythm offensively. And then we have a penalty or negative play that sets us back," coach Sean McDermott said.

Through five weeks, the Bills have either beaten their opponent or themselves, and Sunday was another example of that. Buffalo has enough talent to be considered a Super Bowl contender, but if the team puts itself in a hole, it may be too difficult to dig out of.

The Bills are back in action next Sunday night against the New York Giants. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m.
