Bills Mafia Motivating RB Damien Harris: 'Makes You Want to Win!'

Buffalo Bills newcomer running back Damien Harris is feeling at home with his new team.

The Buffalo Bills signed running back Damien Harris in free agency earlier this offseason. He's now set to compete with second-year pro James Cook for snaps at the position, and will likely be RB2 heading into the season.

However, the former New England Patriot is feeling comfortable and at home so far in Buffalo, regardless of whether he's a starter or not. Even before playing his first game as a Bill, he's feeling a different kind of love from Bills Mafia, something that's making him even more motivated to win a Super Bowl.

“We had a practice in Rochester the other day in the rain and no one flinched or moved a muscle, it was a full, packed house,” Harris said. ”So it’s just things like that that mean a lot to you and it just makes you want to win for them that much more.”

The 26-year-old spent his first four seasons in the NFL with the Patriots. In that time, he's matched up against the Bills four times, surpassing the 100 rushing yards mark on three separate occasions.

Despite the former history between the two sides, Bills fans are ready to embrace the running back as one of their own.

“Buffalo is a special place, it’s one of the most special places in America,” Harris said to the media at training camp. “You only get to truly experience it as a Buffalo Bill, the right way.”

Harris has played with some prestigious programs in his football career. Obviously, the Bills' AFC East division rival in the Patriots have a deep history of winning. He also played college football at Alabama, one of the teams in sports on a yearly basis. But yet, he continues to rave about how different the love from Bills has been.

“This is crazy, it almost made me late for practice, but this is great, these are the best fans in the world, so it was great to come out here and strap it on front of them for the first time in our stadium," Harris said. "My first time here on the good side. Obviously, the energy is electric and I’m glad to be here.”

This is high praise from a running back that has seen plenty in his young career.
