Bills Face 'Long Week' Ahead Preparing vs. Dolphins

“I think I just saw Miami [Dolphins] put up 70 plus points, so long week ahead of us,” Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott said.

The Buffalo Bills face their biggest test yet when the undefeated Miami Dolphins come to town on Sunday to defend their first place spot in the AFC East.

The Dolphins are coming off one of the greatest offensive performances in NFL history, scoring 70 points in a blowout win against the Denver Broncos this past Sunday.

“I think I just saw Miami [Dolphins] put up 70 plus points, so long week ahead of us,” coach Sean McDermott said.

However, the Bills defense could be ready for a test like this. Last week, the Bills sacked Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell nine times and picked him off four times, including a pick-six.

But the Bills are expected to face a much more experienced Dolphins offense and arguably the fastest. McDermott joked in a press conference Wednesday how the Bills needed "a couple Usain Bolts" in practice to help simulate the Dolphins offense.

The Dolphins have the five fastest ball-carrier speeds at any point in the NFL this season. Rookie De'Von Achane was recorded at 21.93 miles per hour and 21.5 miles per hour on two different occasions in Sunday's win, while veterans Tyreek Hill and Raheem Mostert have also been clocked at some of the fastest speeds.

If the Bills can find a way to contain the Dolphins' speed on Sunday, they may be able to grab their third straight win and a share of the top spot in the AFC East.

The Bills and Dolphins are scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. Sunday inside Highmark Stadium.
