'I Feel Great!' Buffalo Bills’ Micah Hyde Preps with ‘Backyard Tackling’

After an injury suffered in Week 1, Bills safety Micah Hyde was aiming for a return for the AFC Championship last year. But the Bills exited the postseason before that could happen.

Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde's 2022 season ended prematurely last season as he missed the final 15 games of the regular season with a neck injury. He was able to return to practice in January and reports were he'd be ready for the AFC Championship Game.

The problem was the Bills didn't appear in the AFC Championship Game after being knocked out of the playoffs in the Divisional Round by the Bengals 27-10 in late January.

Hyde then focused on his return for 2023, and he's continued to work hard to see the field again.

“I feel great,” Hyde said, via the team’s website. “I was in my backyard, getting tackled by my son, preparing for a little season coming up. But I’m truly, truly excited. I’ve been working out for the longest time, so I’m itching to get back out there.”

Hyde received good news this offseason when his partner in the secondary, Jordan Poyer, re-signed with Buffalo.

"I think that we've always established a standard around here, just for not only our defense, but I just think internally into our safety room," Hyde said. "We've always kind of had that chip on our shoulder. Guys just trying to prove themselves. So, we feel like it's on us to set the standard and throughout the years, we continue to try to build off that … We're going to bounce back this year and obviously have to stay healthy, and we added some depth so that's good to see."

Hopefully, Hyde can stay healthy and Bills fans can see the safety tandem contribute to a long playoff run in 2023.
