Bills vs. Jets FIGHT: Josh Allen Fumble Leads to Shoving
The New York Jets could've easily laid down and given up due to the shock that Monday night's meeting with the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium brought. But instead, the injury to star quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemed to light a fire underneath the Jets in the second half.
The good and bad emotions of Monday's contest between the AFC East rivals reached a boiling point after Josh Allen lost a fumble on the first play of Buffalo's second drive of the fourth quarter. It marked his fourth turnover of regulation.
After the Jets recovered the fumble, rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid and offensive lineman Dion Dawkins started getting into a shoving match with the New York defense. Kincaid then got pushed to the ground amidst all of the tussling. No flags were thrown.
Along with an incredible highlight-reel touchdown from Jets receiver Garrett Wilson, the Jets defense and safety Jordan Whitehead sent a major jolt of electricity through the fans at MetLife. Whitehead picked off Allen three times, including twice in the third quarter.
Headed into the game, it seemed like it was all love between the two sides.
"They had a real good team last year [and] they didn't do anything but get better,'' Bills receiver Stefon Diggs said. "Especially defensively, it's another year in that system. They have an amazing head coach(in Robert Saleh) ...They've got a hell of a defense."
But things change once the ball is kicked off. Both teams will now carry these emotions as the game heads into overtime tied at 16-16.
