Bills vs. Jets: New York Dealing with Key Injury Questions
The Buffalo Bills are looking ready and healthy for Monday night's season opener against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium, but Gang Green can't say the same as of now.
Jets fans will get to see the New York debut of Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers against the Bills, but there's other notable names that remain questionable for Monday. This could give Buffalo a slight advantage.
The Jets could be without offensive tackles Duane Brown and Mekhi Becton and running back Breece Hall. All three are listed as questionable as of Sunday, per the Jets.
While Dalvin Cook and Michael Carter are more than capable of holding down the backfield, Hall proved how productive he could be as a rookie last season before tearing his ACL.
But the potential absence of Brown and/or Becton looms much larger. The Jets will need to keep Rodgers safe and give him all the pass protection he can get. Without both starting offensive tackles, the Buffalo pass rush could have a day despite Von Miller's absence.
Of course, it's promising for the Jets that Brown and Becton and only listed as questionable and not doubtful. The pair both practiced on Saturday, per reports.
Becton's absence was only due to illness, which eliminates any confusion regarding a potential absent-worthy injury. Though Brown was also practicing, his status is less clear due to a shoulder injury.
Regardless of who's out there, the Bills will still have to go all-out on Monday in order to come away with a season-opening win on the road.
