Bills Trade Down with Commanders, Gain Extra Pick in NFL Draft
The Buffalo Bills have made their second trade of the 2023 NFL Draft, striking a deal with the Washington Commanders on Day 3 Saturday.
The Bills had traded up two spots in the first round to select Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid at No. 25 on Thursday, but are now trading down to the middle of the fifth round while also getting a late sixth-round pick.
Here are the trade terms:
Buffalo receives:
- No. 150
- No. 215
Washington receives:
- No. 137
The Commanders used their newly-received selection to snag Clemson defensive end K.J. Henry with the second overall pick of the fifth round.
The Bills now have three picks left in the draft. Including the two news picks they just received, the Bills will also select at No. 205.
Buffalo has had an interesting draft haul so far. The Bills selected Kincaid in the first before making a pick in the second round that had analysts salivating, swooping in at No. 59 to select Florida offensive guard O'Cyrus Torrence. He had been graded as a potential first-round pick over the past few months, but Buffalo got him late in the second round.
The Bills used their third-round pick at No. 91 to select Tulane linebacker Dorian Williams, who Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane called a "tackle machine" on Friday.
