Pittsburgh Restaurant Bans Buffalo Sauce Ahead Of Bills vs. Steelers Playoff Game
Pittsburgh Steelers fans, especially those in the Steel City itself, take football very seriously, but this may take the cake.
Bubba's Gourmet Burghers and Beer, a restaurant located in Southpointe, Pennsylvania about 20 miles away from Pittsburgh, is gearing up for Sunday's playoff game against the Buffalo Bills in perhaps the most-fitting way possible. On Monday, the restaurant announced on Facebook that it is banning the sale of buffalo sauce and buffalo chicken dip all week long until the game is over.
"Bubba's Burghers - Southpointe is banning the sale of Buffalo Sauce until after the Pittsburgh Steelers Wild Card game on Sunday," the restaurant's Facebook post reads. "You can order ANY other flavor, but we will NOT be selling Buffalo Sauce all week long!!!! Buffalo Sauce Ban @ Bubba's!!! (This also includes Buffalo Chicken Dip)"
The restaurant owners then posted a follow-up video with signs advertising the buffalo sauce ban, just in case anyone thought they weren't being serious.
Restaurant owner Bubba Snider, who's also a radio host on Pittsburgh's Star 100.7, explained the ban in greater detail.
Could Buffalo Win Move Coach Tomlin to Quit Steelers?
"We know buffalo wings were created at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, and as a Steelers fan, in the playoffs, there's no way I'm doing anything to support anything buffalo at my restaurant, period. End of story," Snider said, per CBS News Pittsburgh.
The Bills and Steelers will kick off at 1 p.m. ET from Highmark Stadium, and about three hours later, Bubba's patrons will finally be able to order buffalo sauce once more.
