NFL Power Rankings: How Far Did Bills Climb?

The Buffalo Bills' dominant win over the Las Vegas Raiders led to a big jump in Sports Illustrated's Power Rankings.

The Buffalo Bills got back on track with their dominant 38-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at Highmark Stadium.

With the Bills' one-sided win over Las Vegas, they moved up to No. 6 in Sports Illustrated's Power Rankings. Buffalo was No. 12 in last week's power rankings.

"A classic Josh Allen game laid to rest the idea that only Brian Daboll could oversee his development from here," SI writes. "While it’s true that Daboll did the hard work, Ken Dorsey and Josh Allen have had some good moments. Allen was taking what a hollowed-out Raiders defense was offering, though we did see his vintage swagger during a pre-halftime drive that ended with an absurd, submarine-style throw to Khalil Shakir. All is well in Buffalo, it seems."

Josh Allen put it all together against Las Vegas, completing 31 of 37 passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns. Allen's efficiency and ability to avoid costly turnovers was a step in the right direction after his rough four-turnover outing in Week 1.

"The thing with this game is it gives you the lowest lows and the highest highs," Allen said after the game on Sunday. "I love feeling how I felt last week. I really do because it makes the good feel that much better. It forces us to be better, and I want to be the best I can be playing this game and be the best quarterback I can be for the Buffalo Bills."

Buffalo's balance on offense was pivotal to its success. James Cook had 17 carries for 123 yards, while Damien Harris and Latavius Murray each ran for a touchdown. The Bills' running game helped them possess the ball for just over 40 minutes.

Allen completed passes to nine different players. Gabe Davis had six catches for 92 yards and a touchdown, while Stefon Diggs had seven catches for 66 yards.

Khalil Shakir and Dawson Knox also had receiving touchdowns for Buffalo.

Defensively, the Bills had their second straight strong outing, holding Las Vegas to just three points after scoring a touchdown on its opening drive. Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard each had an interception. Buffalo's defense held Josh Jacobs, 2022's leading rusher, to negative two yards.

The Bills face another stiff test on Sunday when they head to FedEx Field to face the undefeated Washington Commanders at 1 p.m. ET.
