Buffalo Bills RB James Cook Named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

James Cook had over 200 total yards and two touchdowns in the Buffalo Bills' 31-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook had the best performance of his NFL career on Sunday, and now he has the accolades to back that up.

Cook was named the AFC Player of the Week for his play against the Dallas Cowboys in the Bills' 31-10 win on Sunday at Highmark Stadium. Cook had 25 carries for 179 yards and a touchdown, and he also caught two passes for 42 yards and a touchdown.

"I work my tail off in practice," Cook said after the win. "The confidence level is going to come in practice. Once you practice hard and do the things right, it's a confidence boost, and it's going to show on Sundays."

Cook's 179 rushing yards is the second-most this season, only trailing Miami Dolphins rookie running back De'Von Achane, who ran for 203 yards in their 70-20 win over the Denver Broncos.

Cook wa the first Bills running back since Thurman Thomas in 1991 to have over 200 scrimmage yards with a rushing and receiving touchdown in a game. Cook's 221 yards from scrimmage was the most since Fred Jackson had 227 in 2009 against the Indianapolis Colts

'Let It Rip!' Cook Thrives as Bills Dominate Cowboys

Cook has averaged 21 touches and 141 total yards in his last four games. He's had at least 100 total yards in the last five games after only eclipsing that mark three times in Buffalo's first nine games.

Cook and the Bills will look to continue their momentum on Saturday when they face the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday at SoFi Stadium at 8 p.m. ET.
