Madden 24 Ratings: Bills RBs Underrated, Disrespected?

The player ratings of the Buffalo Bills' running backs have been released for the next iteration of the Madden video game and EA sports is obviously not impressed.

It is no secret the Buffalo Bills' offense is predicated on the arm of quarterback Josh Allen. With Allen under center and Stefon Diggs out wide, the Bills have emerged as one of the league's top passing offenses and shouldn't change any time soon. Yet, balance is not only a buzzword but a goal offensively around the league, even in Buffalo.

The Bills want to have a balanced approach offensively and not rely on the passing game. That is where they are looking for an improvement from their running game, as the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals showed in the playoffs last season; they need more than Diggs and Allen to win a Super Bowl.

Although, even after signing veterans like Damien Harris and Latavius Murray to help out as running back this offseason, Madden 24's player ratings still show a lot to be desired.

  • Damien Harris: 79
  • Latavius Murray: 76
  • James Cook: 75
  • Nyheim Hines: 75

Nick Chubb of the Cleveland Browns received the highest Madden grade at 97.

While Electronic Arts' Madden has developed a reputation for underrating players, it is hard to argue against the overalls given to the Bills' running backs. Buffalo arguably hasn't had an elite back since LeSean McCoy in 2018.

McCoy was the last Bills running back to total 1,000 yards rushing in a single season, and he did it in back-to-back years, 2016 and 2017.

After a rookie season where Cook showed promise rushing for 507 yards and two touchdowns on just 89 carries, there is hope he can turn into the 1,000-yard rusher that the Bills desperately need.
