Bills Reveal Changes to Scouting Department Staff
Draft scouts for the Buffalo Bills had quite a busy 2023 draft cycle, as that department likely spent hundreds of hours evaluating countless talent before the team decided on the selection of six new rookies last month.
But the Bills apparently want some new faces in new places in their scouting room as well, as Buffalo announced changes to its scouting staff on Friday. Here are some of the new roles that members of the scouting department will be taking on:
Chris Marrow - named Co-Director of Pro Scouting
Marrow joined the Bills as a pro scout in 2017. He previously worked as a Northeast scout for National Football Scouting and in the personnel department of the BC Lions of the CFL. Marrow played collegiality at East Carolina and has experience with the game.
Malik Boyd - named Senior Personnel Advisor, will also work as an executive scout in pro and college
Boyd joined the Bills in 2017 as well as the team's pro personnel director. The former Minnesota Vikings defensive back previously worked in scouting departments for the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts.
Curtis Rukavina - named Co-Director of Pro Scouting
Rukavina joined the Bills as a pro scout in 2017. He played college ball at the University of Guelph in Ontario and was the director of player personnel for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL before joining Buffalo.
Lake Dawson - named Senior Executive, will continue college scouting duties while expanding role in pro scouting department
A former third-round pick at receiver by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1994, Dawson joined the Bills as the assistant director of college scouting in 2017. He was previously the senior personnel executive with the Cleveland Browns in 2016, a vice president of player personnel with the Tennessee Titans from 2007 through 2015, and served multiple pro personnel roles with the Seattle Seahawks from 2001 to 2006.
A.J. Highsmith - named National Scout
A former defensive back for the Miami Hurricanes, Highsmith previously worked for the San Francisco 49ers as a college area scout and pro scout. He joined the Bills in 2019 as an area scout.
