Bills Interviewing Former Eagles Coach Sean Desai for Defensive Coordinator
Despite more postseason disappointment, the responsibility of being both the head coach and defensive coordinator didn't end up severely impacting Sean McDermott and the Buffalo Bills this season en route to a late turnaround and an appearance in the AFC Divisional.
But Buffalo's Super Bowl window isn't getting any bigger, and the Bills are already showing that they plan on taking some of the weight off of McDermott's shoulders in the team's best interest.
Per reports Saturday from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bills are interviewing former Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Sean Desai for the same position in Buffalo.
"Former Eagles DC Sean Desai is once again a strong defensive coordinator candidate, this time interviewing with the Bills and Falcons today, sources say," Rapoport tweeted. "A potential quick rebound off Philly."
Desai was recently fired by the Eagles after just one season with the team. A former defensive assistant with the Seattle Seahawks and defensive coordinator with the Chicago Bears, he was stripped of play-calling duties prior to Philly's Week 15 loss to Seattle. This was just one of six losses in the last seven games of the season (including playoffs), as the defense regressed even further after the coaching change to Matt Patricia.

But the Bills clearly see something in Desai, who would have a chance to lead a Buffalo defense that's littered with talent.
