Bills Sign TE Nick Guggemos, Add Depth Behind Dalton Kincaid & Dawson Knox

The Buffalo Bills added another topic to their tight end conversation on Thursday by signing Nick Guggemos.

The Buffalo Bills have had some solid attention around their tight end corps as of late during this offseason.

Whether it's how rookie first-round pick Dalton Kincaid is performing, the minor minicamp injury Dawson Knox suffered or the recent placement of reserve Zach Swanson on IR, there's been plenty to talk about.

The Bills added another topic to this conversation on Thursday, as the team announced the signing of tight end Nick Guggemos to a one-year deal. Buffalo signed him after he practiced with the team on a try-out basis.

Guggemos, who signed as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks in 2021, was most recently with the Green Bay Packers practice squad. He’s also spent time in Washington and with the Cleveland Browns, though he's failed to record a catch or appear in a game during his NFL career.

He'll now be behind the likes of Kincaid, Knox, Quintin Morris and Joel Wilson on the tight end depth chart.

As the team's top selection in April's draft, Kincaid is drawing some understandable attention.

At 6-4, 240 pounds, Kincaid brings nice size to the tight end position, but separates himself from the rest of most guys that play the position due to his receiving skills. In four of his five collegiate seasons, he caught at least eight touchdown passes. During his freshman season as San Diego, 11 of his 24 catches for the season were touchdowns.
