Bills WR Stefon Diggs Excited For Homecoming vs. Commanders
For Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs, Sunday's contest against the Washington Commanders at FedEx Field means a little bit more than the average game.
Diggs, as well of a couple other Bills, are returning to their home state of Maryland on Sunday. The 29-year-old receiver has played in Washington before with the Minnesota Vikings, and played a road game against the Baltimore Ravens last year, but this marks his first game at FedEx Field, the closest NFL Stadium to his hometown of Gaithersburg, Maryland, as a member of the Bills.
Ahead of his big return to his home state, Diggs is excited to come back to his old stomping grounds.
"I love going home," Diggs said. "I like being around my family, I like seeing my mom – even though she comes to games and stuff – but it's different. It kind of gives you that little feeling of being at home again and being in high school."

While he doesn't play there now, Diggs bleeds Maryland through and through. He was the state's top high school recruit in 2012, and chose to stay home and play college ball at Maryland while declining offers from "bigger" schools like Ohio State and USC. For his past exploits, Diggs will always have a special place in the hearts of Maryland football fans.
"Maryland just flies the flag and says, Stefon Diggs went to school here," Maryland Terrapins sportscaster Johnny Holliday told the Bills' site. "He came back [for a Maryland game] and, man, the people went nuts."
Additionally, Diggs is on the verge of a career milestone heading into Sunday's game. The Bills star needs just 20 yards to reach 9,000 for his career, and the fact that he will likely accomplish such a feat makes it even sweeter. However, Diggs' main focus is still undoubtedly on the game at hand.
"I mean, I try not to get lost in it too much," Diggs said. "I'm aiming for something a little higher. So I feel like that's maybe a half-step in the right direction."
