WATCH: Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs Pulls Houdini Act on TD vs. New England Patriots
Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs carved up the New England Patriots with a pair of touchdowns in two matchups last season.
And though it took him a bit to get going, he did it to the Pats again in Sunday's matchup to New England at Gillette Stadium despite Buffalo suffering a 29-25 loss.
Diggs found the end zone on a crucial score in the fourth quarter. After making a sliding grab near the goal line, he froze the defense a bit before realizing he hadn't been touched and quickly got up to walk into the end zone for a 25-yard touchdown.
The Bills cut the New England lead to 22-17 as a result before eventually taking the lead back a few minutes later. However, the Buffalo defense was unable to stop New England at the goal line in the final seconds.
Take a look at Diggs' score:
Bills quarterback Josh Allen has spoken previously about distributing the wealth among his other receivers, but Diggs has remained dominant as a No. 1 target, who seems to find openings in the defense with ease.
“I mean, I’m throwing it to the open guy,” Allen said after the win. “And he does a good job of getting open and making plays with the ball in his hands. And when you have a receiver as talented as him, he’s a first read in a lot of concepts and he’s open, you can’t really pass him up.”
“We do have to utilize other guys, though. I do think we’re a better team when we are able to spread the ball around more, get everybody involved.”
The Bills will now go back to the drawing board after suffering the upset loss.
